TITLE: 3D dataset of the X-ray Computed Tomography and plugin graph results DESCRIPTION OF DATASET: This dataset is the one used for the study titled: "Development of a modular system to provide confidence in porosity analysis of additively manufactured components using X-ray computed tomography" It is composed of the region of interest (ROI) of the X-ray computed tomography (XCT) scans of the holes used for threshold selection and ROI of the cube used for porosity analysis. The dataset also has the graph outputs resulting from using the avizo plugin on the ROI with the holes. FOLDER DESCIPTION: _ Part 2.a XCT of holes ROI: Subsection of the XCT scan in .am format and also 3D .Tif format of each machined hole as well as all of them combined _ Part 2.b XCT of cube ROI: Subsection of the XCT scan in .am format and also 3D .Tif format of the cube used for porosity analysis _ Part 3.c graph outputs: The Avizo plugin graph outputs for each machined hole DESCRIPTION of XCT PROCESS, AND SUBVOLUMES: A Nikon MCT 225 was used to XCT scan the flexure containing the reference pin. The scan settings included a voltage of 145 kV, filament current of 41 µA, number of projections of 1650 and a voxel size of 8.5 µm × 8.5 µm × 8.5 µm. After reconstruction (using Nikon CT Pro 3D), the scan was converted from 32 bit to 8-bit, aligned to the CAD and resampled, resulting in a voxel size change to 9.4 µm × 9.4 µm × 8.8 µm. After resampling, subvolumes of the holes were created (part 2.a), used by the threshold comparator plugin. Subvolume of a cube(box dimensions of approximately 2 mm × 2 m × 2 mm) within the flexure part was also created (part 2.b) and used for porosity analysis.
